01 About the project

The app is a collaborative tool that helps track household food inventory. It promises to transform the complex task of preparing a shopping list into something easy, efficient, and even economical by focusing on purchasing only what is truly necessary. The app suggests recipes based on available ingredients at home and allows users to manage their household food inventory more intelligently.

02 What's the problem?

Grocery shopping is essential, but managing the purchased food effectively is challenging for many. People often struggle to keep track of what they already have at home, leading to unnecessary purchases or missing essential items that have run out. Lack of coordination among household members can result in duplicate purchases or missing crucial items. Additionally, managing the household inventory can be complicated without a simple and accessible way to track expiration dates, quantities, and nutritional values of the products.

03 The solution

The app provides a quick solution for managing household food inventory by tracking what you have and when it’s running low, suggesting items for your next purchase based on shopping habits, and involving the entire household in the shopping process. It syncs with supermarkets for digital orders and exclusive deals. You can also track monthly expenses, use recipes tailored to available ingredients, receive alerts for products nearing expiration, and scan items to check their calorie content. Adding products is easy, either manually or by scanning the barcode on receipts.

I chose to design the app with a lightweight appearance to create a pleasant feel. I used colors that convey a sense of family and images that enhance the experience.
